The Pledge Project project multiplier event was held on March 20, 2024, with 43 participants at İDV Özel Bilkent Middle School. Educators from surrounding schools, members of the School Parent Association, academics, and educators working at the guidance and research center in Ankara province and district attended the project presentation meeting.
The conference started with songs performed by our school choir. The general coordinator of our schools made the opening speech at the project presentation meeting. Olcay Yılmaz, Assistant Professor in the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling at TED University in Ankara, shared insights on career planning, career choices in work and education life, and the importance of interests, talents, and values in career development with his presentation titled “Current Orientations in Career Counseling and Guidance”.
Pledge Project School Coordinator Jale Ataşalar, PhD, shared the outline, purpose, and outcomes of the project with the participants. Also, emphasizing the importance of career management skills, she discussed personal productivity, managing relationships, reaching and finding jobs, and managing career and life. Later on, Nil Talay, one of the students implemented the project and computer teacher Çiğdem Karasu introduced the “I Love Pledge” Online Gamified Guidance Programme. Nil Talay shared her experiences and challenges while implementing the programme. Ciğdem Karasu explained the stages of the programme and the students’ views during the implementation process. The presentation meeting ended with a flute recital by the students. During the cocktail reception after the meeting, participants expressed that the I Love Pledge and Your Pledge tools developed for career development would have a very positive impact on students’ career development.
